Distance Education

Distance Education Faculty

Austin Community College (ACC) faculty have preparation opportunities and comprehensive support available to help them teach in online and hybrid learning environments.

Distance Education Handbook

The purpose of the Austin Community College (ACC) Distance Education (DE) Faculty Handbook is to ensure high quality in the delivery of distance education with regard to instruction and procedures. ACC approaches distance education activities from the recognition of its mission to promote student success and community development by providing affordable access to higher education and workforce training in its service area, through traditional and distance education modes.

The DE Faculty Handbook is maintained by the Office of Distance and Alternative Education with input from the College-wide Distance Education Committee. It contains guidelines and procedures for the design, development, delivery, and assessment of distance education courses and programs, consistent with AR and G/P 4.01.001. Requests for changes and additions to the Handbook by faculty and staff should be made to the chair of the Distance Education Committee.
