Strategies for Today’s Jobs Course

This free, 4-week course delivers comprehensive, digital job search training for students and alumni looking to re-career or move up, and re-entering job seekers. Classes are highly tailored, providing one-on-one career advising, navigation, and success training. Topics covered include targeted resumes geared to pass employer automatic tracking systems (ATS), interview practice, LinkedIn training, salary negotiation, and more! Employer panels round off each class, offering participants time to interact and network with local employers seeking to hire. Hosted fully online, the course meets 2 hours, twice a week. Career Counseling

The Career Counseling team possesses in-depth expertise in career counseling and career development which is utilized to, directly and indirectly, support career decision-making of our students (current & perspective) and alumni.

Career Counselors provide in-depth specialized personal counseling associated with critical career development & employment-related issues to current, former, and prospective students which exceeds the service level routinely available through existing campus personnel & resources. Career Counselors also support & confer with Student Accessibility Services, instructional departments, Continuing Education, Adult Education, Advisors, Support Center Advocates, Completion Counselors, Clinical Counselors, Success Coaches, EDUC faculty, and others to develop a unified plan to meet group and individual needs associated with career development and career decision making. Career Resources for Faculty

Career Services offers support, training, and resources for faculty including class presentations, support services for job fairs by program area, and employer relations. Our specialists are available for class visits and will tailor presentations (topic, length) to meet your class needs. Presentation topics include an overview of career services, career exploration and planning, resume and cover letter best practices, job search strategies, career readiness competencies, professional branding, and more.
