Student Accessibility Services (SAS)

Student Accessibility Services (SAS) at Austin Community College (ACC) provides reasonable, appropriate and effective classroom and testing accommodations to students with disabilities and offers support to faculty working with our students.

Accommodations allow a student with a disability to effectively access the course material. Common accommodations include:

    • extended testing time
    • note taking support
    • reader for tests
    • scribing for exams
    • use of a computer for essays
    • alternative format of course material, textbooks, and tests.

Students who have been approved for accommodations will provide you with a Notice of Approved Accommodations (NAA) at the beginning of the semester. Only the accommodations listed on this form should be provided to the student for the duration of the semester. If a student requests an accommodation not listed on the NAA, please direct the student to contact SAS to discuss the request.

If you have any questions about the approved accommodations, please see Campus Contacts for the appropriate SAS Office.

SAS staff are available to answer any questions you may have or for consultations to assist you in working with students with disabilities. If you have a student who you think may benefit from SAS services, please refer the student to the SAS Office on your campus using the SAS referral form.  Faculty may visit SAS Faculty Information to review services and information on serving students with disabilities in a higher education setting.
