Classroom Conduct
Classroom Conduct
Maintaining a good and safe learning environment in the classroom essential and important part of a faculty’s responsibility. When a student’s behavior is disruptive faculty should verbally warn the student to stop the behavior. Faculty may dismiss the student from their class or work area for the day and report the incident as a conduct violation if the behavior continues after multiple attempts or escalates. Faculty may request that the student be prevented from returning to the class or work area until he/she attends a meeting with a dean/associate dean of Student Affairs. Students should not be withdrawn from class for disciplinary action without receiving proper due process.
Deans and associate deans of Student Affairs are available to provide guidance should you have questions or concerns with classroom situations and behaviors you may encounter.
